First off, I wanna say thank you to Scott and Jacie for allowing me to do their engagement session. This couple was a blast to hang out with and photograph. One thing that really caught my attention was the fact that regardless of having my camera in their face, they just acted as if I was not even there; which is a photographers dream! Thanks to Scott and Jacie for such a wonderful and enjoyable session. It's couples like them that allow me to LOVE what I do!

The Love of My Life
This week has been quite eventful...Monday, I woke up sick and went to West Wind Medical Clinic. After two shots I had a seizure and passed out in my boyfriends car...Kenton had to carry me back into the clinic we had just left (Thank God he was driving).
Wednesday, Kenton sliced his finger and had to get 3 stitches i.e. he got his stitches at his uncles clinic...talk about having a family.
All in all, this week basically summed up the fact that God was watching over us. What a blessing.
My superman of a boyfriend needed to be rewarded for pretty much saving my life. I blind folded him and took him down to Buffalo Springs Lake where there is a wonderful restaurant that sits on the side of the lake, The Krusty Crab! It was a perfect night for such a wonderful date. Kenton said he had no idea where we were going, but he mapped out the course blind folded in the car ride there. I guess that’s what I get when I date someone that has grown up in West Texas.
Needless to say the company was great and the weather was perfect, minus the mosquitoes. We watched the sun set and called it a night :)

The Dogs Have Arrived!
Thanks to all of you who entered "Calling All Dogs...And Their Owners" contest. I had a great turn out, which made it very hard for me to pick. All of y'alls dogs are amazingly cute and had such wonderful stories, and yes, I would love to photograph all of them if time allowed it. But I could only pick one...
The Winner of "Calling All Dogs...And Their Owners" contest is Rachel Mullenix! This young lady sent me a power point presentation from the perspective of her dog Moose. Very creative and just all around funny.
Thanks again for entering the contest, and be sure to keep checking back for more!

Once Upon A Lubbock Sky
Ok, so ever since the class I took out at Junction (with Wyman, and Jerod) I find myself commenting on cloud structures, and the way the light hits certain things; I guess that’s what Junction will do to ya.
But this Sunday evening Lubbock brought in some beautiful light. My boyfriend Kenton was dead set on making a trip to Wal-Mart to get some meat to cook dinner, but I had some other plans. "HURRY GO! GO! GO! Babe the light is moving fast!" I guess you could say I'm a little OCD, but man tonight the light was beautiful!
Just like in Junction, the amazing rays of the sun lit up the clouds. With the temperature in the mid 70's and a cool breeze, I couldn’t ask for anything more. I had the best sidekick a.k.a. my other half, Kenton, and I can't forget to mention my Pentax right there with me watching God paint the sky.

I have an anonymous blog hater
I have an anonymous blog hater...
For all of those who leave me sweet comments on my blog, thank you! It truly means the world to me. I know I am nowhere near to calling myself a "professional" because I simply have sooo much room for improvement and learning. But just today it was brought to my attention by my boss that I have a "blog hater".
Now, the only reason I say "blog hater" is because I truly take to heart critiques and constructive criticisms. What better way to learn and grow in your photography work then to hear what other people think. Isn't that how life is? But that is where the line is drawn. My ANONYMOUS "blog hater" has left several comments that are flat out just rude.
So the reason for this blog is to announce that I already knew I am human and I am not perfect. I am not a professional either. I am simply a Texas Tech Student who has a passion for photography.
With that said, I do enjoy hearing from onlookers about my work and how I can improve. So if you have any comments or questions about my work, or how I can improve my work please let me know; I'm all ears. But hiding behind a computer screen ANONYMOUSLY, only leaves room for a title such as a "blog hater".
BTW, Anonymous-if your comments are being left to provide me with guidance or instruction, please point me and my readers to your site so we might all learn directly from you. Oh, you don't have a site? Pity. I'm certain it would provide a lesson to us all.

Aaron + Jennifer
My friend Cortney Russell allowed me to come shoot with her yesterday evening for Aaron and Jennifer's wedding. What a great opportunity to just keep building my portfolio. I got to use my new 50mm 1.4 lens, which was a blast to use. I also got to play around with Mass Coms. 5D for a little practice on the Canon.
Aaron and Jennifer have been so great to me for letting me join in on their chapter together. But I have to thank Cortney the most. She let me be a part of Aaron and Jennifer's engagement session and know their wedding. Getting to follow a couple like that from engagement all the way to their wedding is something different. I had a blast! Here is just a teaser from the wedding with my 50mm.
